Linguist and activist Noam Chomsky is among those who have sent a statement of support. “It is impossible to exaggerate the awesome nature of the challenge we face: to determine, within the next few years, whether organised human society can survive in anything like its present form,” he said. “The activists of Extinction Rebellion are leading the way in confronting this immense challenge, with courage and integrity, an achievement of historic significance that must be amplified with urgency.”

At least Jezza's brother Piers is sane, so much so that he makes a lucrative living out of weather forecasting.

Jeremy Corbyn’s brother calls climate protesters ‘deranged’ as he holds a counter demonstration and denounces global warming as a ‘hoax’

Piers Corbyn staged a tiny counter-protest at the Extinction Rebellion occupation at Waterloo Bridge yesterday.
    Haw, haw...........haw.

It couldn't get any ' tinier ' . It was only him.
Even then it was doubtful that anybody of sound mind turned up.

    Haw, haw...........haw.

Piers Corbyn is a physicist and meteorologist who runs a weather forecasting firm called WeatherAction that has been questioned for its unusual methods of predicting weather patterns. He is adamant that man-made climate change is a hoax, saying in 2008: 'CO2 has never driven, does not drive and never will drive weather or climate.

'Global warming is over and it never was anything to do with CO2 - CO2 is still rising but the world is now cooling and will continue to do so.'

Waterloo Bridge has now been blocked by demonstrators for five days.

Yeah- I've read his treatise on moon-spots and how to make weather-spells with a forked-stick and precious bodily fluids.

Uber-luvvy Emma Thompson flew business class from LA to show her 'solidarity', what a fucking hypocrite!!

The message couldn’t be clearer. People like Emma Thompson don’t want to shut down all air travel, they just want to shut down YOUR right to travel by air.

If they really want to change things then why aren't they protesting outside the Chinese and Indian embassies?
because that would be difficult as those countries aren't going to slow growth for CO2
They go for the EZ Pickins - and they know western press will fall over itself to beg their mercy

They tried to disrupt Heathrow yesterday but the police were given full powers to stop them. The sooner that Sadiq Khant is kicked out the better! Totally bloody useless, of course he is beloved by virtual signalling SJWs like Moonatic.

She said there was no way to fly ' clean'. She's right. The airline industry is filthy- a major contributor to ecocide.
She'll stop flying when you shut down your airforce, maggot.

Nah- they made no attempt to shut down the airport. That was a feint which shifted hundreds of coppers out of central London. Transparent- but still clever. Churchill would have applauded.

The group has three demands – for the British government to announce a ‘climate and ecological emergency’, for the country to commit to zero net CO2 emissions by 2025 and for the creation of a citizens assembly to make decisions over ‘climate and ecological justice’.

The first aim is already part of the Climate Change Act. The second and third are just total bullshit, demands made by a bunch of bedwetting pansies with little grasp of reality.

It stands to reason that you would trample citizen's rights, maggot. It's the preserve of fore-lock tugging lower-class Tories.

Extinction Rebellion: Climate protesters 'making a difference'

A teenage climate change activist has told Extinction Rebellion protesters in London they are "making a difference".

Greta Thunberg, 16, was greeted with loud cheers and chants of "we love you" as she took to the stage in front of thousands of people at the rally in Marble Arch.

Earlier, one of the group's members said the protests would be "paused".

But another said they planned "a week of activities" including a bid to prevent MPs from entering Parliament.

Ms Thunberg, a Swedish teenager who is credited with inspiring an international movement to fight climate change, told the crowd "humanity is standing at a crossroads" and that protesters "will never stop fighting for this planet".

    Who is Greta Thunberg?
Greta Thunberg, 16, up for Peace Prize
Addressing protesters, she said: "For way too long the politicians and people in power have got away with not doing anything at all to fight the climate crisis and ecological crisis.

"But we will make sure they will not get away with it any longer."
