“The President’s unlawful declaration over a crisis that does not exist does great violence to our Constitution and makes America less safe, stealing from urgently needed defense funds for the security of our military and our nation. This is plainly a power grab by a disappointed President, who has gone outside the bounds of the law to try to get what he failed to achieve in the constitutional legislative process.
“The President’s actions clearly violate the Congress’s exclusive power of the purse, which our Founders enshrined in the Constitution. The Congress will defend our constitutional authorities in the Congress, in the Courts, and in the public, using every remedy available.

Just as both parties honored our oath to protect the American people by passing the conference committee bill, the Congress on a bipartisan basis must honor the Constitution by defending our system of checks and balances.

The question came after Fox network figures and conservative commentators prodded the president to declare an emergency over the past few months and railed against him for ending the government shutdown without over $5 billion for the wall.
But Trump insisted Friday that the emergency declaration he had just issued was his own doing.
"They don't decide policy. In fact, if I went opposite — they have somebody, Ann Coulter, I don't know her. I hardly know her. I haven't spoken to her in way over a year. The press loved saying 'Ann Coulter.' Probably if I did speak to her, she'd be really nice. I just don't have the time to speak to her," Trump said.

No, at Vanderbilt, the professors praised Socialism and Communism. One was a card carrying Communist. To say that Socialism and Communism aren't presented favorably at most liberal arts universities in America is untrue. Non-electives were required (English Literature and History) in my Engineering School . Poli-Sci is where the merits of Socialism and Communism are touted in earnest.
