Great point, and no. I read another interesting comment along those lines. When righties make the news for some negative reason, it's quick to be called a smear. But the same thing doesn't hold true for the left.. And the case in point was Northam... you never saw the word "smear" attached to articles about him.

Did you not question at all the story when you first heard it? People walking around at 2am in 30 degree weather with a hang noose and bleach? I find it difficult to believe your b.s. meter didn’t go off just a little. Not saying that the story was false at the time but you had to have had a modicum of skepticism. We’ll see how it all plays out here but it’s sure pointing towards something occurring other than what was originally told.

The tale is absurd on its face. Neither article indicated that the police are still actively investigating it.

Actually it didn't. Maybe because of where I live I see all kinds of aggressive incidents involving race, religion or gender. And know that hate crimes have increased for the third year in a row per the FBI.

If it's true that Smollett knows the suspects, and if they had it in for him, I find it possible that they planned this attack. I saw a headline a few minutes ago that the Chicago PD arrested two suspects so we'll see where it goes.

"Two men questioned as persons of interest in the alleged attack on "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett are now suspects and have been arrested.

Chicago Police Spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said Thursday the suspects, whom he has not publically identified by name, are Nigerian brothers and were questioned by police after flying into O'Hare airport from Nigeria on Wednesday evening.

Police searched the apartment of the men two nights ago.

A law enforcement source with knowledge of the investigation said that Uber and Yellow Cab were helpful in tracking the men's whereabouts on the night of the attack.
