Ever notice that big companies that need tech workers never relocate to flyover country of jesusland or dumbfuckastan
were you on board with all that NY was willing to offer Amazon to get them to come?

This is why a lot of people here didn't want them to come to Pittsburgh.

I don't mean to disrespect your City but freaking Pittsburgh didn't want the new (high paying) jobs, growth and respect having Amazon coming to that City would mean? That makes me shake my head.

The officials and government wanted them but some people (not all) thought it would mess with our cost of living, which is pretty moderate. And housing is the biggest factor in that.

Not to mention that traveling around here isn't easy; it's an old city and doesn't have the best transportation systems.

Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.

Matthew 2016 and Michael 2018. I take your point that it's not annual.

That's OK. Matthew scraped along offshore parallel to FL, true. Michael cut across the panhandle which means it was a direct hit, true. My bad.
I was just thinking of the most recent major direct landfalls covering the most area within the state.

So, you don't think the cost of living is high enough in NYC, or what?

With a median wage of 29,000, and the warehouse worker only getting $13.00 an hour, I would not consider that to be "high wages". Do you have any idea of what the average rent is in NYC?

C'mon down to Miami. The more good paying jobs where a lot of people do not speak English would fit well down here.
    And taxes are very low

Ok, but that has nothing to do with the type of jobs being created at HQ2. This whole search isn’t about filling warehouse fulfillment jobs

The majority of the jobs were, and the wages for the higher paying opportunities would not cover the needs of the employees. Then you add the additional costs to the current residents, and one begins to see the problem. One cannot afford to live in an area that requires a 50,000 dollar salary on a 26,000 dollar job.

Try reading the articles I posted to get an understanding of why the local people rejected the idea.

The middle of a prairie would be a great place to build. Hell, they could build an entire city there, solar powered to boot.
