As a socialist, she should live in a hostel.

She’s getting $10 million from Netflix for a documentary on her. Let’s see if she willingly pays a 70% tax rate on that.

This is how is goes with the commies doesn’t it, they want the peons to live in poverty and sh*t while they live like royalty.
like many other ignorant flyover country goyim , you have no idea about NYC, must suck to be a pastry faced goyim n jesusland

If I was part of the 1%, I'd have no problem paying the taxes that AOC wants, as long as the money was going to the social programs she wants to fund.

Why do I have a hard time believing that?

Look at it like this. At some point, having more money means nothing. If you had $20 billion, and someone offered to give you a million, you might accept it, but would you really care that much? Would that extra million affect your life at all?
However, if you gave a million of your money to social programs that lift people out of poverty, you'd be able to enjoy the benefits. Some of those poor people will go on to create movies and music, some will make technological advancements, all because they now have opportunity they didn't have before. You'd be happier for giving away the million for a good cause, than you would for accepting another million.

So that's my thought process here. If I was filthy fucking rich, I'd gladly give away some money that I wouldn't even miss, so that I could enjoy the work of future artists and scientists.

I applaud your way of thinking. I really do. It should be up to an individual to help others though, not demanded by a government. Anyone can help no matter what their financial status is.

That's by and large what many uber-wealthy do. The others invest in high risk ventures, and the ones that pan-out can make huge differences in people's lives.

None of them put their money in banks and fawn over the big numbers.

I would be all for that if the 1% hasn't horded too much of the wealth. We're at that point now where we have too many billionaires who don't care about their country, other people, or the world.

But they rarely put their money in social programs that lift people out of poverty. Most of them invest in things that they think will make them more money, regardless of how it will affect other people.

Quite a few have or are giving away their billions to help others. Gates, Buffet, Cook, Feeney and the list goes on and on.
