Excellent point. The answer is because those who give freely are not looking for votes. They just want to actually help.

If you give money to charity, you're allowed to write it off as charity so you don't get taxed. At least that's how it's supposed to happen. If it doesn't happen that way in practice, then that should be fixed.

I'm not part of the 1%. Taxing me wouldn't help to decentralize wealth and power, but it would make things harder for me. This is why we should tax the 1%. It would be good for the economy, and it wouldn't make life any harder for them.

In other words, you're more than willing to have the government force someone else so you can take credit for supporting it?

It means someone that gets a handout because they refuse to do for themselves is a piece of shit. Someone being a piece of shit doesn't benefit me.

Just because someone is working-class, does not mean they're worthless freeloaders. Most of these people just weren't born with the privileges you were.

Never said working class was the reason why. When someone that demands they get something they didn't earn because someone has something they don't, that's what makes them a worthless freeloader. There are a lot of working class people that don't demand anything.

What privileges do you claim I had when I was born?

    Whatever helps.

Wouldn't the right thing to be let those that refuse to provide for themselves do without? Why does someone unwilling to do for him/herself deserve anything other than nothing?

You should pay your fair share instead of living in a society at no cost to you.
