Yep, and the locals want us out, but it’s resort service for a lot of military.

If you kill the believers (ISIS) in a ideology of death and crucifixion of children, you can certainly limit the ideology and one day, perhaps, kill it.

No, not all want us out. I spent three years in Spain and they were very happy to have us there.

we are not only NOT pulling out, we are EXPANDING NATO "beefing up" existing forces and quite probably building a forward base in Poland.

    But Putin is the expansionist!

Somehow, I don't think Russia will be invading Germany anytime too soon. Now, the SDF (Kurds) in Syria, that's another story.
How many troops in Germany? How many troops in Syria?

The new big fear is Russia invading Ukraine,
Ukraine just voted to join NATO -so technically the war in Donbass would require an Article 5 response.

The problem is Turkey is the main player for the Kurds. Bolton tried to get Erdogan to commit not to slaughter them
but Erdogan considers them "terrorists" in Turkey, and uses that excuse.

So it's not our call. Not much of anything is our call in Syria.
If you start with that base line there isn't much we can do but get out.

That's bullshit, Erdogan won't attack the Kurds whilst there are NATO troops there.
