Same can be said for Appalachia and the South.

The Russia Tax Cut was supposed to raise everyone's wages by $4K-$9K.

    What happened there?

Take Appalachia, e.g. All they have to do is get off the meth, get an education, be willing to work and get out of there and the opportunity is for those that seek it.
Stop there and you've made an excellent post.
Thanks! Yes, it is a decision that many have to make- in a lot of places. A decision that one has to make at a very early age sometimes.

Another large sector of poverty, believe it or not, are the war veterans returning home from the war on terrorism. Many of these veterans return home, and fall right back into poverty, and struggle to find opportunities back home.

I remember reading a book about Timothy McVeigh and it saying how disillusioned he was to have been in the army with all kinds of badges and awards, he got out and he could only find work at a Burger King. That's the problem with being in the military - learn a special skill, make a career out of it, or else you're delaying life.

The veterans problem is a bit phenomenal as most of these vets coming back home are skilled and have education benefits as well.

I think a lot of vets are falling under the "Personality Disorder" category as they try to adjust back into their civilian status. It is a larger problem than what we have imagined.

My niece's husband had that. He was Special Forces in the Iraqi debacle. I have no doubt he murdered innocent Iraqis. He wasn't right for a long time - no special skills, didn't integrate too well. He's OK now but it took some time.

I've seen some come back and navigate back through the process with little trouble, and I've seen others who seem to be hexed with divorces, mental and physical injuries they suffered in the war!

Veterans are faced with a Veterans Administration that uses an equity system to determine benefits. All Vets are not equal under that kind of a system, and many are being held back from receiving Veterans medical benefits because of little loopholes and rules in the system.

And that explains why these citizens have fallen through the cracks of the Affordable Care Act? Why do left wing radicals.....minorities by MAJORITY.....always invoke the ad hominem insult when they can't defend the propaganda they have presented by PASTING some left wing blogers opinion? Are you that stupid and inarticulate that you can't defend your positions void of posting the ideas of others? Perhaps the elite New England plantation owners are correct. You can't live void of someone looking after you in the inner city left wing plantations.
