I don't understand your thoughts here. Do you think a business does not risk loss every day it operates?

So someone comes up with an idea, writes a business plan, puts their life savings into it, raises additional capital from family and friends and possibly investors. And if they are lucky the company does well but this entrepreneur is just taking from others and would have done nothing to earn it?

You sound like the type of person that isn’t willing to take a risk but expects all the benefits and rewards to come to you that risk takers receive. Wouldn’t that be nice

Well, if you believe all liberals think alike you are the one who has a very strange notion. You're talking about a lot of very different people! Why on Earth would you believe that millions of very different people would all think the same? We're talking about people from all across the social strata. Rich and poor, no education all the way up to very highly educated, married, single, some childless, others with large families, black, white, Latino, straight, gay, bi, trans, politically active, politically uninformed, very well informed, disengaged, highly engaged.

What possible reasoning could exist for knowing the world is very complex, getting more so every day, but here is this simple easy explanation for understanding millions of very different people: They all have the same 'notions.'

If you really want a better understanding of politics I would suggest dropping the idea that there are simple explanations for complex issues.

I have seen too many times how leaving too much money too much money to your kids harms them.

The huge volume of inequitable wealth is still there.
It's just even fewer than 3,000,000 who have it.
I can imagine how you did on the logic segment of the SATs.

Fear, many Preppers are longing for the day society collapses and they will be the ones prepared, while the 1% is hoarding money because they plan to buy themselves out of any trouble, and they want their children to be guaranteed admission into the upper class so they wont have to get their hands dirty. Self reliant meet helpless.

Desperation to keep your stash. There is an us versus them mentality in both groups. If society broke down, no doubt we would much more "on our own" than we are today. The interdependent social network that keeps us all alive and allows for individuals to specialize on Medicine, Law, Art, Science, Math while not worrying about farming, clean water, and personal safety would fall apart. The value of the money the 1% has stashed would also disappear, and those who have depended their entire life on paying other people to do all the activities of daily living would be unable to survive. So why are they political bedfellows, because the 1% is using the hard working individual in an effort to keep his stash. The American way, if you can enslave enough people to work for less than the value of their service, you get rich, especially if you never let them actually catch the carrot you dangle in front of them. Keeping taxes high on the middle class and low on the wealthy (percentage wise) perpetuates the financial enslavement system. The individualist gives up on being financially wealthy and preps, the wealthy promotes the system and sits on a huge pile of case. BAM, modern America, Trumpism!

The rest of the developed world manages to pay for everything the social democrats are seeking for us now.
Conservatives worship at the altar of social regressiveness. They call it American Exceptionalism.
