Mormons and Scientologists suffer from the fact they are modern. We actually can see what conmen and crooks their founders were. We know what wild and crazy guys they were. Their deeds have not been erased or whietwashed by the chuch changing its beliefs and "holy" books. Mormons are in the process of cleaning it up. Scientologists dig in deeper and stay hidden.
Not hard to think that the religious leaders of all were conmen. Christianity has had time for wart removal. Ismlam has tried to scrub their history. In a couple hundred years Joe Smith and Hubbard will be elevated to gods.

I am not surprised to see lefties hijack the context of words and apply them to a wrong context. It will satisfy the confirmation bias of some, but it won't fool them all.
