Bleeding support and down to 34 percent approval.
Undoubtedly drops below 30 percent if and when Trump+Republicans crash the economy and put a screeching halt to the decade-long Obama Economic Recovery.
I am surprised actually that Republicans have not learned yet that their shutdown-extortion schemes never work.
“I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck … I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I’m not going to blame you for it.” - Donald Trump, December 2018
Trump’s approval rating is tanking as his futile shutdown scheme backfires
A new poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research released Wednesday found absolutely devastating numbers for the president. His approval rating, which was already at an anemic 42 percent at the beginning of the shutdown, has crashed to 34 percent, and his rating with independents is 28 percent, nearly as low as it has ever been.
While Trump has since desperately tried to change tack and blame Democrats for the blockade he created, the poll found that, true to his original promise to own the shutdown, 60 percent of Americans blame him for it. Among those who blame Congress for the standstill, a larger number of Americans blame the GOP lawmakers trying to enact Trump’s will than the Democratic lawmakers resisting it — 36 percent vs 31 percent.

Now you got it. He's stupidly bought into the RW Fox-bleated meme that the only ppl on govt. aid are (D) voters. And that other meme that everyone hates the govt. and federal workers and are just fine with them *never* coming back to work. The irony that escapes both Toadstool and his moron base is this: The shutdown is over a fake security crisis at the border that needs a TrumpWall. Meanwhile all the ppl who are charged with securing said border and maintaining security are not getting paid, and are calling out sick. And in other news, the *other* ppl charged with maintaining safety in the air -- ATC and TSA personnel -- ditto. But worst of all, to these idiots -- they are probably not going to get their tax refunds in a timely manner.

President Donald Trump's approval rating has taken a beating amid the longest-ever U.S. government shutdown, which has dragged on for more than a month.
On FiveThirtyEight's daily tracker, for instance, Trump's average approval rating had dipped below 40 percent on Wednesday. The tracker—which aggregates public polls, while accounting for each survey's quality, recency, sample size and partisan lean—pegged Trump's approval at just 39.6 percent, while his disapproval had risen to 55.7 percent.
New polls indicate Trump’s shutdown position is unpopular and dragging his approval rating to new lows

The survey, which was conducted with the help of Beacon Research and released on Wednesday, found that 51 percent of registered voters think Trump bears the most responsibility for the shutdown.
Thirty-four percent of respondents say the Democrats in Congress are most responsible for the shutdown, while 3 percent say Republican lawmakers should bear most of the blame.
