the Dems have no way to open the government

The republican party could do it TODAY by merely voting on bills already there and that have passed before

Donny could then sign it and done

quit blaming the party with less power for what happens

IDK, Kacper, ... there's been rumors of cracks on both sides, but nothing has happened. I'm beginning to feel that a National Emergency may be the only way to end the stalemate. But I hope you're right :0)

The house has sent two bills to the Senate presumably with enough votes to pass but McConnel has blocked them both.

I personally believe there's enough votes at this point to override a veto if they could just get a vote through.

There is no real equivalency here, Mott. The Democrats MUST NOT give in to extortion. The Republicans in congress should be helping to prevent extortion winning out.
Look there is room for compromise on both sides. From what I'm seeing Democrats are being as intransigent as Republicans.

Granted the idea of a wall is meant for the brain dead and the stupid. I get it. But the funding being asked for, by federal measures, is miniscule. For christ sakes agree to some immigration security measure and a compromise that includes a fence and be done with it. Open the government back up!

What's going on right now is a childish game of chicken.

If Obama had tried to use extortion by shutting down the government to get his stimulus bill passed in 2009, there would have been calls for his impeachment.
Oh god forbid that Trump should score a political point.

This has grown to epic silly proportions and it needs to stop on both side.

They turned them down but keep in mind that Trump is asking for a significant amount of money not to improve border security but to throw a populust SOP to morons. So rejecting on general principle as being the absolute dumbest idea in modern politics isn't exactly flawed.

But it aint worth shutting the government down over.
