Is today your birthday? If so, happy birthday! May you be blessed with as many more as you wish.

I had a ruptured brain aneurysm right after I turned 50. Was told I wouldn't see 60. They were wrong. My kids threw me a 60th/2nd birthday party to celebrate the wrongness of that prognosis. Now I'm 65. Pleased to still be here, with good health, love, laughter, and life. Mino bimaadiziwin! (Life is good, living life in a good way.)

When I was a kid, my favorite radio program was a thing called, "2000 Plus." (I'm 82...and have always loved SciFi.)

When I listened to it, I remember thinking how happy I would be if I ever saw the year 2000. It was unimaginable to me back then...the 1900 were all I knew.

    Now here it is 2019!

    I'm still having a ball...love every day I live.

When it ends (which it will in the not too distant future)...I'll have lived my turn on planet Earth to the best possible advantage.

once I learned how vast the universe was I have always felt sooo lucky to have ever lived at all

one really needs to take moments in every day to just sit and be in the beauty of all that exists

there are troubles in the world

    But

there are far more beautiful and wonderful things than troubles

    Keep up the good work!

In my opinion, everyone has a choice as to how old they want to be.

There are plenty of 30 year olds who are cynical, negative, spiteful, and give off an impression they have the soul of an angry, ancient 80 year old man.

Then there are plenty of people in their 70s and 80s who have young souls, who never let the inner child wither away, and maintain an upbeat and youthful outlook on life - their souls are forever young.
