A dictatorship isn't an economic system. North Korea's economic system is socialism. Now compare that to South Korea and their living standards.

It is no different under socialism. You have to pay outrageous taxes in most of the places and don't really own anything like your house. When 10,000 people buy 10,000 book from amazon, a bookstore somewhere dried up which gave 5-10 people pink slips which then created 5-10 people who would work for less just to have a job than 5 or 10 people who otherwise would have taken the job at 105% of the wage, rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat.

You don't own your house in America either because of property taxes.
The fact that people are willing to work for less drives down wages. Even Bernie Sanders used to oppose mass third world immigration for this reason.

1% a year is not unreasonable or burdensome when inflation is higher than 1%. Like I said, you pay a lot worse in other places.
