To know what works, we need to compare countries, and examine individual issues. I would say that America's living standards would grow faster with Liberal Socialism.

The wealth gap is worse now than during the Gilded Age. It is accomplished through tax breaks and laws that permit them to cheat. Holding the min. wage down for so long added to the problem. The wealthy used their money and power to continuously erode the structures that kept America from being a klepocracy. Nothing wong with capitalism that a lot of serious regiulation and laws cannot fix.

North Korea's command economy is more similar to America's Capitalism than it is to South Korea's economy which is Liberal Socialist, not Capitalist.

True, but it's still not as much as it should be. The fact that 40% of people don't have $400 for an emergency is a big problem.
We also have to be careful with statistics relating to "disposable income," since it can be defined subjectively.
And the wealth gap hasn't been this bad since the thirties.

We don't have wars of occupation. What is wrong with liberals on the left? America doesn't start wars; we end them. The Defense budget amounts to 15% of the total spent and as a percent of GDP is at all time lows.

First of all, American intervention in WWI helped to create Nazism and Fascism.

How is that even credible?

Secondly, getting involved in WWII led to Soviet occupation in Eastern Europe. And finally, I'm not saying we have to ignore the world. I'm saying we need to stop unnecessary wars and occupations.

People spending money is good, that's what causes the economy to thrive. Things get bad when there isn't enough money moving around, and that's what happens under Capitalism because wealth becomes too centralized.

But because of social programs, such as universal health care and affordable college, living standards are still higher in European and East Asian Liberal Socialist countries than in America.

Have you ever lived in Europe or been to Asia? The living standards are NOTHING like we have here.
