So they will evade more taxes. The problem has never been with rates, but what deductions and credits are allowed. As Trump found out, the democrats who want high rates shit a fucking brick if you try to eliminate any of those deductions and credits that would actually increase revenue.

That is a great point. Every single Trump hating leftist on JPP had a fit about Trump eliminating SALT deductions which primarily hit the richest among us. Why is that? Here is their chance to have the "rich" pay more in taxes and the leftist cry.

The reality is that it is a bogus poll in that, if you ask anyone a question about something where someone else has to bear the burden almost always a majority will say yes.

Now if you asked them if the gobblement should take 70% of their income to help the poor, they would all say no.

Of course Toby isn't honest about AOCs claims. Her little tax scheme would raise very little revenue as all confiscation schemes do

Name one single deduction from 1946-1981 that prevented any rich person from paying the top rate.

    Just one.

    Really?

The left united around Crooked Hillary?

By all means, provide us with one single deduction from 1946-1981 that prevented any rich person from paying the top rate.

    Just one example. One deduction.

That's because you engage in sophistry when you ask that stupid question.

It's a deliberate attempt to mislead people about progressive taxation.

You know that the 70% rate is on income over a certain amount, but you keep that part out of what you say so you can mislead people.

Why do you do that? Why are you incapable of acting in good faith? It's because you've lied so much in your life that you simply don't know what it is to tell the truth anymore.

Name one between 1981 and 2019 that doesn't other than the earned income tax credit.

You are avoiding the question Toby. You lefties love reminiscing about the 1950s tax code and the top marginal rate. Your contention is that it will lead us to nirvana. My question to you is do you want to bring back the entire tax code and all its rates or do you just want to cherry pick?

And since you are probably going to be a pussy and not answer the above question Toby, I will ask it another way.

Please list all the tax rates and income levels you would support. Surely you aren't advocating a tax code that only taxes marginal rates at 70% for those who make more than $10,000,000 a year do you? Personally, if that ever became law, I would make sure I only made $9,950,000/year and you could fuck yourself on your 70% marginal rate. Just sayin Toby

Back in 2012, when Obama let the Bush Tax Cuts expire on the wealthy, every single Conservative predicted it would lead to lower revenue.

Instead, tax revenue grew by $400B.

So since you were wrong then, why would you be right today?

Higher tax rates do not increase Revenue. Lower tax rates do.

Your claim was that rich people used deductions and shit to avoid paying the top rate from 1946-1981.

I asked you to name one, and you can't.

That's because your claim is bullshit, and you know it.

    Toby

My point is very clear. It is that anytime you ask people to demand the government take from others it is an easy yes. That is the point. But, if you asked them if they should be personally taxed at that rate....well you know the answer don't you Toby?

    Wrong.

Bush cut taxes in 2001, and revenue from 2001-2004 was less than revenue in 2000.

So history from the last 20 years proves you wrong.
