British Prime Minister May loses historic vote on her Brexit deal.

If May and lawmakers cannot agree on another course of action, Britain will crash out of the E.U. on March 29 without a formal divorce settlement.

How dare we not want 3rd world trash in our countries? borders means walls and that is what putin wants even though 4 years ago we laughed and guffawed at the idea of him being relevant.. forget that PUTIN IS BAD and russia bad. ORANGE MAN BAD! support open borders give up your national identity we all belong to one world with one government and one/the few happily taking on the burden to put the world into an undying vice grip.

the further centralization of power will always lead to more corruption. power always corrupts, and the more concentrated the power is the more corrupt it will become. We are going to descend into world monarchy one day and it will be because of liberal NPC dumbasses like those you find on JPP wanting to circlejerk how progressive they are.

May already announced that this was her last stint so she didn't stake her career on it.

The pearl clutching people thinking they will force another referendum are freaking idiots. It isn't going to be just a hard brexit. It is going to be the hardest possible brexit. When razor wire starts getting stretched across the Irish border, there will be nobody to blame but the remainers.

I know it sucks for you that rational thought is painful, but if you try it enough, you might come to like it.

    Please be less fucking stupid.
I'm sure I can find at least one Californian with ties to Russia.

Labour will have their no confidence vote tonight at 7pm GMT and they will lose. May will continue to be PM for the interim and we will leave the EU on the 29th March.

There is a great book The Rise and Fall of the Great Powers, which examines why comparatively united great powers like China stagnated for millennia, while quarrelsome, disunited Europe went on to create the modern world.

At the beginning of the sixteenth century it was by no means apparent that the last-named region [Europe] was destined to rise above all the rest. But however imposing and organised some of those oriental empires appeared by comparison with Europe, they all suffered from the consequences of having a centralised authority which insisted upon uniformity of belief and practice, not only in official state religion but also in such areas as commercial activities and weapons development. The lack of any such supreme authority in Europe and the warlike rivalries among its various kingdoms and city-states stimulated a constant search for military improvements, which interacted fruitfully with newer technological and commercial advances that were also being thrown up in this competitive, entrepreneurial environment. Possessing fewer obstacles to change, European societies entered into a constant upward spiral of economic growth and enhanced military effectiveness which, over time, was to carry them ahead of all other regions of the globe
