Default Why is PAUL, a LIBERTARIAN, MD, ex-REP SEN going to Canada for HIS hernia surgery?

CANADA HAS 'SOCIALIZED' MEDICINE. WE HAVE THE BEST MEDICAL CARE and the world COMES HERE to get it! We've been told that a million times. We don't do good 'hernia' surgeries in the US? Does his retirement insurance from the FEDS assuming, he had the vested time, not pay for it--here? Will it pay for it there? Is his out-of-pocket too expensive here? (Doctors USUALLY COMP and REMAINING FEES and BALANCES for each other!

    This is hernia surgery folks.

PS I am also going to assume his neighbor who beat the shit out of him had homeowners insurance and I'm also going to assume PAUL sued him. Which should cover the cost of medical expenses as this article says it was related to the beating.

Socialism-hating GOP Senator Rand Paul is going to Canada to get hernia surgery: report

Sen. Rand Paul on CNN -- screengrab

One of socialized medicine’s biggest critics is about to get some first-hand experience in how it works.

The Louisville Courier Journal reports that Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), a libertarian who in the past has compared Canadian-style single-payer health care systems to “slavery,” will be travelling to Canada later this month to get surgery on an injured hernia.

The Courier-Journal discovered that Paul is scheduled to have a hernia operation at the Shouldice Hernia Hospital in Thornhill, Ontario next week, according to documents filed in the senator’s civil lawsuit against a neighbor who attacked him last year and left him with six broken ribs and a bruised lung.

Paul, who is himself a former ophthalmologist, has regularly attacked Democratic proposals to ensure universal health care, whether they take a more market-based approach like former President Barack Obama’s landmark Affordable Care Act or whether they aim for a Canada-style system like Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) proposed Medicare for All bill.

“With regard to the idea whether or not you have a right to health care… It means you believe in slavery,”
Paul said back in 2011. “You are going to enslave not only me but the janitor at my hospital, the person who cleans my office, the assistants, the nurses… you are basically saying you believe in slavery.”

Paul’s office so far has not responded to requests from the Courier-Journal for comment

He’s going to a world renowned private hospital that specializes in hernias where you pay in cash. What’s the issue? What is contrarian to libertarian principles in his actions?

Morons on the left think that he is getting Government paid healthcare. They don't realize that if it were Government, he would be on a waiting list for months, if not a year.

They also don't know that Canada's government "managed" healthcare system doesn't cover dental, vision or prescriptions.

Canada does not have free care. Canada has low cost universal insurance. Every time an insured Canadian sees a doctor or gets medical service, a bill goes to the medical services plan. Because 75% of services are actually provided by private companies. Because no money changes hands at the doctor/hospital some people confuse this for free.
