US allies question Trump’s ‘legitimacy’ after new Russia bombshells: former senior diplomat

Former United States Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman told MSNBC on Monday that the United States was in a “dangerous moment” that has America’s allies worried about President Donald Trump’s legitimacy, after the Washington Post’s bombshell report that Trump went to “extraordinary lengths” to hide, and possibly destroy, the notes from his private meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.

“I think we’re in an extraordinarily dangerous moment,” Sherman said. “When people listen to this around the world, they wonder what the authority of the president of the United States is, whether he has legitimate leadership standing here in this country.”

The picture that U.S. allies see, as related by Sherman, was a country in chaos.

Trump's actions and the things he's said have done a lot of damage to his standing with our oldest allies even before this bit of news.

This will go down in History as High Treason on a National Stage

Trump isn't our 45th American president; he's our 1st Russian one.

No wonder you're such a repugnant low IQ loser; you get your stories from rawstory. How dumb are you?

NYT says Trump was working for the Russians!! IT was a HUUUUUGGGEEEE story! A really BIG one!!!
Page 173 V I: Ultimately, the investigation did not establish that the Campaign coordinated or conspired with the Russian government in its election-interference activities.

Given his Kremlin connections, given how hostile he is towards our traditional western allies, and considering how he prostrates himself to Putin, I do not think Merkel, Macron, or any of our NATO allies should share any intelligence with Trump, tell him anything confidential, or privately discuss sensitive matters with him. This Fat Orange Pig has no credibility and possibly cannot be trusted.

Trump pulling troops out of Syria only makes sense if Trump IS an asset of the Russian Federation.

no. Trump is not a globalist interventionist.
Staying in Syria is stupid & ineffective in "checking Iran" and downright dangerous possibility on conflicting with Russia.

It's their client state -let them run it

from an article on why Mattis resigned:

"It is well known that Mattis had numerous policy disagreements with Trump. When Trump talked of war with North Korea, Mattis talked of the horrors that war would bring. When Trump withdrew America from the Iran nuclear deal, Mattis reportedly opposed the move. And Trump’s decisions to withdraw American troops from Syria – and now it seems Afghanistan as well – may have been the final straws that forced Mattis’s resignation."
    https://www.theguardian.com/commenti...ign-in-protest

"Mattis closed by saying: “My views on treating allies with respect and also being clear-eyed about both malign actors and strategic competitors are strongly held and informed by over four decades of immersion in these issues.” "
"Translation: Trump has no idea what he’s doing."

Trump is snatching Defeat from the Jaws of Victory by leaving Syria now. But, ... if you view Trump as a Russian Asset, it makes perfect sense.

I wonder how long our allies have known he’s compromised?
That’s why I’m so screwed up, because I had a father who pushed me so hard,” Trump acknowledged in 2007, in a brief and rare moment of self-awareness.
