Default Make no mistake -- this is a GOP shutdown

(CNN)The Democratic leaders struck on a great slogan when they started talking about the "Trump Shutdown" during the famous televised Oval Office meeting with President Trump last month. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer warned Trump that the blame for a government shutdown would fall on him, but the President happily accepted the responsibility and said, "I am proud to shutdown the government for border security."

Both Pelosi and Schumer have since repeated the phrase "Trump Shutdown," but it's not actually the most accurate description of what's going on. This is really the Republican Shutdown, or maybe the Grand Old Party's Dysfunctional Moment, and it's vital that we be clear about what is going on.

Virtually nobody who supports Trump gives a fuck that a small segment of the government is "shut down". And only a small portion of the people who's ox is being gored by the "shut down" would ever have voted for Trump. Democratic voters are by and large the ones suffering because of it. And their leadership would rather quibble over $5 billion than end it due to purely political considerations.

Want to show us your polling on that? 800,000 workers not getting paid. Families being hurt. People who provide services to them losing business. Yeah, only to reds is that a positive. So you makeup shit and claim it factual. Typical right wing shit.

You sure don't give a shit about coal miners losing their jobs, do you?
Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

800,000 mostly unionized public employees. Do you need a poll to know that by and large they vote for Democrats?

Is there a more lame partisan game than who ‘owns’ a shutdown lol?

It takes two to tango. Both parties are responsible for it—Chuck and Nancy could end the shutdown just as fast and just as easily as Trump could.

What’s patently obvious is the utter lack of principle on the democrat’s part. Whatever one thinks of the wall or whether it’s good policy, Trump is at least acting out of principle on it. Democrats don’t want the wall because TRUMP MUST BE OPPOSED.

The all caps is the beginning, and the end, of the democrat’s ‘principles’ on the issue.

As Frankie would say, they are an abomination. Except Frankie would use ALL CAPS LOL.
Coup has started. First of many steps. Impeachment will follow ultimately~WB attorney Mark Zaid, January 2017
