Poor thing. She's going to essentially be fucked in the head because of this for a very long time, if not for life. She won't trust anyone, she'll have guilt issues, be unable to form lasting, tight relationships, etc..

BTW, the same person on that news channel report who wondered why she didn't escape earlier later speculated that the girl was having a cyber thing with the kidnapper and suggested that the whole thing was kind of planned or something. She was quickly disabused of *that* notion by other commenters, who accurately pointed out that social media was one of the first things the authorities looked at when she went missing. She had no contact with him. I expect that it will turn out that the kidnapper/murderer knew the family, maybe had cut their grass or saw them at a store where he worked, or something like that.

The victim blamers are almost as horrifying as this murderer.
