Default DEMOCRATS distinguishing themselves in the news

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel was officially suspended by new Gov. Ron DeSantis on Friday.

"Sheriff Israel has repeatedly failed and has demonstrated a pattern of poor leadership," DeSantis said in a statement.

"For these reasons, I am suspending Sheriff Israel from office effective immediately.”

DeSantis later tweeted that he was suspending Israel for "his repeated failures, incompetence and neglect of duty."

Default ☭ Nationalizing Socialist DEMOCRAT says wealth is in the wrong hands ☭

DEMOCRAT DE BLASIO WANTS TO REDISTRIBUTE WEALTH

Mayor Bill de Blasio used his sixth State of the City speech to present his promises of things to come.

The hourlong address followed a vow by the mayor that he would embark on a national tour to “preach the gospel” of liberal governance, trumpet his accomplishments in his first five years in office and argue that his new proposals — such as requiring paid vacation for most private-sector employees — are a model for the DEMOCRAT Party nationally.

DEMOCRAT de Blasio railed against big business, promised to seize the buildings of landlords and framed the argument over income inequality — long a theme of his rhetoric — in zero-sum terms.

“Here’s the truth, brothers and sisters, there’s plenty of money in the world. Plenty of money in this city,” the mayor said. “It’s just in the wrong hands!”

Default Why do Black men keep dying @ Ed Buck's place?

    BUCK'S BODY COUNT: 2 - TO HILDEBEAST, THAT'S A ROOKIE NUMBER

A political action committee associated with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) has been silent about its contributions from liberal donor Ed Buck, who had a second man die in his Los Angeles apartment earlier this week.

The House Majority PAC, which helped elect DEMOCRATS in Congress's lower chamber, took thousands of dollars from Buck, but has yet to address the donations. The PAC did not respond to numerous questions his week about any plans to refund his contributions.

The DEMOCRAT Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), who took money from Buck election cycles, has also been mum on its donations from the megadonor.

The DCCC did not return a request for comment on the money it has received from Buck.

Some 30 DEMOCRAT lawmakers left the government shutdown behind Friday on a chartered flight to Puerto Rico for a winter retreat with 109 lobbyists and corporate executives during which they planned to see the hit Broadway show “Hamilton” and attend three parties including one with the show’s cast. The party with the cast is sponsored by Latino Victory, a DEMOCRAT political action committee.

“We are excited for you to join us for CHC BOLD PAC’s 2019 Winter Retreat in San Juan, Puerto Rico! Each year, this retreat serves as a way for our CHC BOLD PAC Members and friends in the D.C. community to come together to escape the cold,” said a memo on the trip.

109 lobbyists and corporate executives are named in the memo, a rate of 3.6 lobbyists for every DEMOCRAT. They include those from several big K Street firms, R.J. Reynolds, Facebook, Comcast, Amazon, PhRMA, Microsoft, Intel, Verizon, and unions like the National Education Association.

The event is taking place in a seaside resort where rooms go for $429 a night. Food is being provided.

HE LIKES HIS MEN BLACK AND DEAD

The attorney for Ed Buck, the longtime DEMOCRAT donor whose West Hollywood home has been the scene of two Black men’s deaths since 2017, said that critics have unfairly used race to blame his client for the deaths.

“Some people still want us to have a race war,” attorney Seymour Amster said.

Buck, a 64-year-old white man, previously was implicated in the July 2017 death of Gemmel Moore, a 26-year-old Black man who died of a methamphetamine overdose in Buck’s home, which was littered with drug paraphernalia, according to a Los Angeles County coroner’s report.

The Sheriff’s Department said Buck was present for both deaths.

Protesters, most of whom were Black, gathered outside Buck’s apartment this week demanding his prosecution. Some protesters turned on Buck’s neighbors — most of whom were white — accusing them of being complicit.

“If a black man was living there, you wouldn’t be OK with it,” one of the protesters shouted.

Jasmyne Cannick, who organized this week’s protests, has accused Buck of preying on vulnerable Black men, such as sex workers and homeless men, for sexual gratification.

Buck is "a man who they say has a Tuskegee Experiment-like fetish which includes shooting drugs into young Black men that he picks up off the street or via dating hookup websites,” Cannick said in a statement.

Dozens of people gathered outside Buck’s apartment Friday night for a candlelight vigil honoring Moore and Dean.

“It is a race issue. If you look at all of his ads online, it’s specifically Black men. He doesn’t want anybody else but Black men,” Cannick told the crowd, referring to Buck’s posts on the internet.

Moore’s mother, LaTisha Nixon, walked into the crowd as they chanted her son’s name.

“He is a predator,” Nixon said of Buck. “He is preying on Black men.”

ARE YOU NOW, OR HAVE YOU EVER BEEN....A CHRISTIAN?

Kommisar Kamala Harris is suggesting is that membership in a 2-million-strong, 136-year-old Catholic social organization disqualifies an individual from the federal bench.

Plenty of Senate DEMOCRATS agree. They’ve adopted a strategy of interrogating President Trump’s judicial nominees about Catholic beliefs and associations. It began in September 2017 when Dianne Feinstein told Amy Coney Barrett, now confirmed to the Seventh Circuit, “The dogma lives loudly within you, and that’s a concern.”

Anti-Catholic sentiment is manifest in the DEMOCRAT party. Feinstein asked Third Circuit nominee Paul Matey, “If confirmed, will you recuse yourself from all cases in which the Knights of Columbus have taken a position?” Feinstein also demanded to know if Michael Scudder, now confirmed to the Seventh Circuit, worked with his parish “to establish a residential crisis-pregnancy center.”

Feinstein, Harris, and three other DEMOCRATS wanted to know about the relationship between Fourth Circuit nominee Allison Jones Rushing and the Alliance Defending Freedom, a Christian nonprofit that supports religious liberty.

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island asked Peter J. Phipps, now confirmed as a district-court judge, about the Knights of Columbus.
Nor is it only Catholics who are subject to this religious litmus test. The DEMOCRATS are ecumenical: Baptists and Episcopalians are also under scrutiny.

In June 2017, Bernie Sanders clashed with Russell Vought, now acting director of the Office of Management and Budget, over a blog post Vought had written regarding Islam. “I’m a Christian, and I believe in a Christian set of principles based on my faith,” Vought said. Sanders said, “I would simply say, Mr. Chairman, that this nominee is really not someone who is what this country is supposed to be about.”

In questions to Trevor McFadden, now confirmed to the D.C. district court, Whitehouse singled out McFadden’s church, Falls Church Anglican, for its opposition to same-sex marriage. Whitehouse asked if McFadden agreed with statements made by his pastor. “It would be improper for me to state my personal opinions,” McFadden responded in writing. “If I am confirmed as a judge, I will faithfully apply the applicable Supreme Court and D.C. Circuit precedents, including Obergefell v. Hodges.” That wasn’t enough for Whitehouse.

So committed are DEMOCRATS to the doctrines of social liberalism that they are prepared to ignore the plain text of Article Six, Section Three, of the Constitution: “No religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or Public Trust under the United States.”

Democrats have the right to do this, and the GOP has the right to resist it tooth and nail.

The sad thing is De Blasio wants to redistribute someone else's wealth.

Why is it Democrats only want to redistribute someone else's money rather than their own?

SPURTACUS TRYING TO CONCEAL HIS SLAVE RELATIONSHIP W/BIG PHARMA

Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) is trying to overcome doubts that he is too close to the pharmaceutical industry ahead of an expected presidential campaign.

Progressive criticism of Booker reached a crescendo when he voted against a budget amendment calling for importing drugs from abroad.

The line of attack played into broader fears from progressives that Booker is not tough enough on corporations in general, including Wall Street.

“Cory Booker And DEMOCRATS Prove Trump Right On Big Pharma,” read a headline in HuffPost.

Said Neil Sroka, communications director for the progressive group Democracy for America, "There’s overriding concern about Cory Booker’s willingness to confront corporate power in all of its forms,” Sroka added, referencing his positions on Wall Street and education in addition to drugs.

Running against progressive standard-bearers like Bernie Sanders and Sen. Elizabeth Warren could put a spotlight on perceptions Booker does not sufficiently stand up to corporations.

New Jersey is home to the headquarters of a slew of pharmaceutical companies. "He’s pitching for the home team and the home team in New Jersey is pharma,” said Ross Baker, a political science professor at Rutgers University.

Booker has also sought to tamp down questions about his fund-raising from pharmaceutical companies. Booker raised more money from the pharmaceutical industry than any other senator, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
