Exclamation Miami airport to close terminal as gov shutdown continues

Miami International Airport is closing a terminal this weekend due to the government shutdown because security screeners have been calling in sick at twice the airport's normal rate.

Friday marks the first day screeners will miss a paycheck, and airport spokesman Greg Chin said there's a concern there won't be enough workers to handle all 11 checkpoints during normal hours over the weekend.

Chin said Terminal G will close at 1 p.m. Saturday, reopen for flights Sunday morning and close again at 1 p.m. that day. The terminal serves United Airlines along with smaller carriers. Its closure means restaurants and shops that depend on departing flights also will close..............................

The senate has already unanimously approved them getting backpay when the government reopens. They will be paid. It is just a matter of when. If they are not willing to show up and earn that pay, they should be fired.

Right after the CDC said the romaine-e.coli problem was over, too. It's bad enough we have problems like this and now there's no watchdog to try to prevent them.

But that doesn't do anything to fix the problem. It just makes the problem worse.

Maybe that's what you want, though.

WHY NOT JUST OPEN THE GOVERNMENT SO THIS ISN'T EVEN AN ISSUE?

Oh right, because then that would be a tacit admission that this border crisis was fabricated and you simply don't want to have to eat shit and admit that.

They think their social status will insulate them from the chaos.

    They're sorely mistaken.

I am sure you would feel the same exact way if you weren't getting paid

Why not just show up and work since you know you will be getting paid. Oh right, because that would be a tacit admission you are not really a victim.
