The courts won't approve imminent domain based on Trump's lies or his ego needs.

    excerpt:

The opposition will intensify if Democrats accede to the Trump administration’s demand to build more than 215 new miles of wall, including 104 miles in the Rio Grande Valley and 55 miles near Laredo. Even a compromise solution to build “steel slats,” as Trump has suggested, or more fencing of the kind that Democrats have previously supported would likely trigger more court cases and pushback in Texas.

Legal experts say Trump likely cannot waive eminent domain — which requires the government to demonstrate a public use for the land and provide landowners with compensation — by declaring a national emergency.

Standing near the Rio Grande, Trump was asked Thursday how quickly border wall construction could start if he declared an emergency.

There's nothing these landowners can do, the government has the constitutional right of eminent domain.

Nope.. The courts won't let him do that based on his lies..... Just like Trump claimed his lawyers said he can declare the border a national emergency.. Never mind that his main lawyer is going to prison.

How wrong you are. They can start law suits that could last a decade or more.

The Kelo case out of CT a few years back pretty much turned ED on its head anyway.
Wait till all the illegals are funneled into the areas where there is no wall.

Not really the problem. If they reach the American Gaza strip, they can still apply for amnesty. It seems stupid to set the wall back so far in Texas if the goal is to keep them from getting in to begin with. They will already be in. I don't live in Texas and never intend to live in Texas, so I do think they should have a say in this being on the front line, but the say should come from the Texas government after careful deliberation, and not just a bunch of random yahoos with vested interests one way or the other like trailer park slum lord dude.

Obama had a program which allowed them to apply in their own country but your moron canceled it. The numbers increase at the border is from trumps incompetence.

You mean Obama issued an executive order that directly contradicted what US law currently is that President Trump reversed. What a travesty that someone decided to obey US law and not try to circumvent it. Obama was a total fuck up in this regard. Rather than fight the good fight, rally support, have the debate, and make substantive permanent change, he tried to end-run the Congress to score cheap political points. There are plenty of deplorables who support immigration reform, but rather than try to build a coalition for change, he cowered.

Don't blame Obama for a Republican Congress.
