Hasn't been the same since McCain passed, just needs that daddy figure
Do you think it kills two birds with one stone? He’s facing re-election and this is supporting Trump while getting a way to open government back up.

We have an emergency, so I am KING.

Someone explain to me where the Constitution gives the President the power to grab additional powers by declaring a national emergency?

Dumbass; you really are a shitty lawyer on top of being an idiot:

The National Emergencies Act (Pub.L. 94–412, 90 Stat. 1255, enacted September 14, 1976, codified at 50 U.S.C. § 1601–1651) is a United States federal law passed to stop open-ended states of national emergency and formalize the power of Congress to provide certain checks and balances on the emergency powers of the President. The Act of Congress imposes certain procedural formalities on the President when invoking such powers. The perceived need for the law arose from the scope and number of laws granting special powers to the executive in times of national emergency.

Definitely, although I think it is more about Trump getting an escape route than a way to open the government. Lindsey is serving point for Trump in the Senate so when he does it Trump can say it wasn't a surprise and he has Senate approval

Irony is that they all know the emergency route is going to be tied up in the Courts for some time, even if it gets quick passed to the Supreme Court, meaning Trump really don't care about border security, it is all facade, he is just desperate for a way out of the box he put himself in

Sadly this is not a first. Clinton sort of did the same in eastern Europe when his ratings tanked. But I think his missile strikes had better effect than a trump wall would.
