Default N.Y.Times correction: Paul Manafort wanted to give polling data to Ukraine oligarch

he New York Times issued a correction Wednesday to a report that said former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort asked for campaign polling to be passed on to Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska.

The newspaper issued a correction note and clarified that Manafort asked then-deputy Trump campaign manager
Rick Gates to give the polling data to Ukrainian oligarchs Serhiy Lyovochkin and Rinat Akhmetov, and not Deripaska, who has close ties to the Kremlin.

“A previous version of this article misidentified the people to whom Paul Manafort wanted a Russian associate to send polling data,” the Times said in its correction Wednesday.
“Mr. Manafort wanted the data sent to two Ukrainian oligarchs, Serhiy Lyovochkin and Rinat Akhmetov, not Oleg V. Deripaska, a Russian oligarch close to the Kremlin.”

The report came after the defense team for Manafort acknowledged in a new filing that their client shared 2016 presidential campaign polling data with Konstantin Kilimnik, a Russian-Ukrainian political consultant to Russian intelligence, who at one point worked for Manafort’s consulting firm.

In failing to properly redact their document, Manafort’s defense team said he was unable to properly answer questions “with regard to the government’s allegation that Mr. Manafort lied about sharing polling data with Mr. Kilimnik related to the 2016 presidential campaign.”

Kilimnik was indicted by special counsel Robert Mueller in June 2018 on charges of obstruction of jushttps://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/new-york-times-corrects-report-on-which-oligarchs-paul-manafort-wanted-to-give-polling-datatice and tampering with a witness on behalf of Manafort.

Doesn't really change anything. At least the Times corrects the errors it makes. Unlike Fox and other right-wing lie machines.

Cornelius is one of JPP's most longstanding and interesting enigmas wrapped up in a ball of mystery. No one can be quite sure as to his true identity, which has left many flabbergasted and concerned. Cornelius has appeared numerous times throughout JPP history, always in a poignant and punctual fashion. He's offered numerous contributions to a whole host of threads with his unique insight into the human condition, and has captivated both mind and spirit with each corner of the site that he visits. Almost as a function of time, the clamor for Cornelius to return grew louder and louder until it could no longer be ignored. Cornelius is now among us all.

Trump has never admitted he lied. The Trump gang has never admitted he lied. Hell even the media always labels his lies as "misstatements" so clearly lies are acceptable but mistakes (in whatever form) in a news story are beyond the pale to some of you Trumpies?

    Fucking hypocrites.

Why is that a "never mind"?

In May 2016 and August 2016, Kilimnik met with Manafort to discuss "unpaid bills" and "current news".

Kilimnik was still working for Russian intelligence when, during September and October 2016, he was known to be communicating with the Trump campaign. Both Rick Gates and Paul Manafort were in contact with him at the time.

Manafort has said that he and Kilimnik discussed the Democratic National Committee cyber attack and release of emails, now known to be undertaken by Russian hacker groups known as Cozy Bear and Fancy Bear.

Kilimnik and Manafort had been involved in the Pericles Fund together, an unsuccessful business venture financed by Oleg Deripaska.

In July 2016, Manafort told Kilimnik to offer Deripaska private information in exchange for resolving multimillion-dollar disputes about the venture.

It isn’t, Mueller has connected the dots, even Fox’s Judge Napalitano says it’s looks like collusion.

No, he hasn’t, you’ve totally lost your mind, go meditate.
