It just takes one unplanned catastrophic illness...and all the supposed safety of savings and thrift go right out the window.

That is how many people in our country find out why some of us insist on protecting and expanding safety-net programs.
LOL yeah, people just don't know they have no money. Do you read what you write? LOL

    Yes, I do.

I made my point clear. Get someone to help you understand it.

There ARE people who think they've got fall-back money...so they think they are not living pay-check-to-paycheck. One bad event...and they are in the toilet.

    I know, I know...you don't get it.

I hope you never find out the hard way.

Also you'd think for a liberal state their medicaid reimbursement would be fair.
It's not. The reimbursement is so low no doc could possibly accept it. So their state board is one level short of the Gestapo and they basically have no medicaid to speak of.
Oregon is one fucked up state.

Had a co-worker several years ago that moved from Oregon. He said the cost of living was so high there he could take a pay cut and make more money.

Agreed on the fines. It was like a $5K fine for not having a license, yet the city of portland had a fenced off area near Union Ave and Sandy Blvd where illegal labor could safely be picked up and supposedly guaranteed $10/hr
It was fucking maddening to be a tax payer there.

Yep, that's Portland. Perfectly OK to be an illegal alien, shit, piss, camp out on the sidewalks, and fornicate openly in downtown Portland, but try making an honest living and you're considered a criminal.
Everything there is ass backwards and upside down.

Is it good for this nation that our population is one pay check away from near ruin?

Kinda limits their ability to drive consumer spending huh idiots

Bust and Boom is only good for the wealthy

just how much more can you consolidate the wealth and have a spending public?

You are either idiots or wish to see chaos reign

You should save 10% of every paycheck. Pay yourself first. Have 6 months of expenses in a money market account

Everyone can do this. It is just a matter of priorities. People like government don’t have revenue problems. They have spending problems

Well, most likely because of financial illiteracy is what happens. Someone knows how to save their savings and spend only on necessary household items.

Well, most likely because of financial illiteracy is what happens. Someone knows how to save their savings and spend only on necessary household items. Also, if people know how to advance in the place where they work and get a lot more. It would not be wrong if they taught financial literacy in school, then it would be easier for people to deal with it at a more mature age. I'm still learning this, and now I'm trying to grow my business and make a paystub free accessible and get my paycheck that way, control my income and taxes. I wish they had taught me that before, and I couldn't know exactly where the money was going.
