McConnell should bring whatever the House sends over...to a vote.

He can claim he wasn't sure if Trump would or would not sign it.
McConnell has no interest in giving your side a political win. Even beyond that, he has stated he thinks it is a waste of time to bring things not likely to pass to the floor. The Senate has much more limited time to debate and work than the House, being less than a third of the size.

The Senate is under no obligation to bring anything the House passes to a vote. That is how gobblement works Frankie. Don't you know that?

I am still loving this shutdown. Aren't you having as much fun as I am Frankie?

I loved last night. Trump looked Presidential and Schumer/Pelosi looked weak and whiny

It wasn't a comeback, handout parasite, merely a statement.

That you have to pretend it was is quite telling.

Kind of off the topic, but I find it interesting that the military is always among those protected from any belt-tightening, right out of the gate. I have a former classmate who works for the DoD, and her pay hasn't been interrupted, even though there's absolutely no way to characterize it as emergency or essential work (she has an academic role associated with medical research). Ironically, the military are often better situated to manage without a steady paycheck than other groups. At least if you live on base, for example, you don't have to worry about making your mortgage payment. You also get various subsidies covering day-to-day life (e.g., ability to buy in the PX/BX), and some tax exemptions, plus all sorts of special perks like stand-by air travel on military transport, etc. For some (e.g., enlisted living in barracks), you can even eat for free. If you have to get by for a while without an income, you're going to be much better positioned to do so than, say, a typical TSA agent.

I agree. And I think he would gladly fuck the entire country rather than do so.

    But...I can hope.

EVERYTHING the House is sending to the Senate originated with the Republicans...and it was going to pass almost unanimously...and Trump had agreed to sign it...before Trump caved to Limbaugh and Ingraham.

The Senate has much more limited time to debate and work than the House, being less than a third of the size.
    What???????????????

That is how OUR government works, IHA...and nowhere have I ever said differently.

I am still loving this shutdown.
Okay. I suspect that is because you are an asshole.

Aren't you having as much fun as I am Frankie?
I am having lots of fun here...although I would love to see the shutdown end.

I loved last night. Trump looked Presidential and Schumer/Pelosi looked weak and whiny
Trump essentially said that he wants the wall.

Schumer and Pelosi said that he was not going to get it.

My guess is: Schumer and Pelosi are closer to the truth than Trump.

    Insane Parrot.

Ridiculous manufactured pablum created for Chuck and Nancy worshipers.

Socialism is just the modern word for monarchy.

D.C. has become a Guild System with an hierarchy and line of accession much like the Royal Court or priestly classes.

Private citizens are perfectly able of doing a better job without "apprenticing".

So I guess I was a couple days off, but my prediction that Trump would end the shutdown and try to use emergency powers to build the wall still seems plausible, if not delayed a bit.
