Default NYC Single Payer, The Laboritory Experiment The Country Needs

The New York City Mayor made a fantastic move today. He issued a proclamation that provides Single Payer healthcare to every New-Yorker even undocumented residence of the city. I’m cheering him on. That’s exactly what this country needs is a laboratory experiment for the nation to see just how well single payer works and what it cost. I think about 3 Democrat controlled states have already studied single payer for their states and rejected it just for the cost problem. Not to mention how long the waiting times for treatments would be and what the quality of the overloaded service would be if they instituted it.

I say “GO FOR IT NEW YORK!!!!!”

This is how healthcare was started in Canada. Tommy Douglas started single payer for Saskatchewan and when it showed how much better it was, the country adopted it.

Well friend I think you're gonna find out that it's gonna cost 10 times more than the Mayor thinks it's gonna cost an just wait till the doctor's offices get so overloaded it will take months for people to get appointments. What will happen is the folks with private insurance will have to get doctor's appointments out of the city, the city doctors will be underpaid and probably move out of the city. It will be one interesting laboratory experiment. I believe that if they actually make it a true Single Payer program,it will show just how crummy and stupid and expensive Single Payer really is.

Hasn't it already been tried and failed in Vermont and Hawaii?

I think a 2 or 3 States did studies on State Single Payer and determined it was way too expensive. I don't recall if they ever studied the wait times for appointments or the actual quality of the care.

Single payer does not need experiments or to prove itself.
Single payer is the most widespread, most popular, and most cost effective type of health care program for every other developed country on the face of the earth - with decades of proven track record.

If your hostility to single payer insurance is actually genuine, make sure to tell your parents, grandparent, aunts, and uncles that your hostility to Marxism compels you to insist they need to get off Medicare and shop for private health insurance from a for-profit company.

Medicare? You mean that socialist program that's going broke? How does a country protect the developed world with the largest military budget ever contrived by mankind and a socialist entitlement system going broke and a national debt of 22 trillion $ manage to create a socialist healthcare system? It's insane!!!

You may believe it doesn't need a practice run on a smaller scale, but we'll sure as hell find out by watching what happens in NY City. That's why I'm as happy as I can be to see it actually being attempted. I wish more cities and States would create their own healthcare systems so the nation can actually find out what will work. Actually that's how the system the founders created is supposed to work. Healthcare belongs to the States and the people not the idiot feds see amendment 10 to our Constitution.

Single payer is the dumbest, most corrupt invention by Government apparatchiks on the planet. Only gullible, low information, low IQ morons desire to place their fates in the hands of faceless bureaucrats.

Why would there be a longer waiting period for service, and why wouldn't the quality be the same as with regular insurance?

Well pal you are going to find the healthcare companies will sabotage the shit out of it . They will make it more expensive. Just put Pharm medicines up for competion by price and we can save a ton. But they are in control. Other countries provide medical care for half the price and cover all.

Because single payer allows for every hangnail and boil to infiltrate the doctor's offices along with every drug stoned broke loser and every other freeloader seeking their living by way of somebody else's dime. The care will suck because of the overload of patients, the lack of doctors and especially the lack of medical teaching and licensing institutions. The inevitable is just common sense. Just keep an eye on NYC. Anybody with private insurance will go out of the city to get care because of the City overload and crummy care. Doctors will leave the city unless they're generously paid. The cost to the city will overwhelm the system and the city. It's all perfectly predictable.

Long waiting list, high taxes and people coming to the States for critical care to keep from dying.
