Default Russian ATTY, Trump Tower mtg, charged, MONEYLAUNDER'G to buy NYC real estate

She had deep ties to Putin and the oligarchs. Apparently she laundered money for the purposes of buying high end real estate in NYC. Anyone think some of them might be Trump properties? Nahhh...

(You believe she met with TRUMP JR to discuss ADOPTIONS, right?)

Natalia V. Veselnitskaya, the Russian lawyer who in 2016 met with Trump campaign officials in Trump Tower, was charged on Tuesday in a separate case that showed her close ties to the Kremlin.

Ms. Veselnitskaya, a pivotal figure in the investigation into Russian interference in the presidential election, was charged by federal prosecutors in New York with seeking to thwart an earlier Justice Department investigation into money laundering that involved an influential Russian businessman and his investment firm.

The money-laundering case was not directly related to the Trump Tower meeting. But a federal indictment returned in Manhattan seemed to confirm that Ms. Veselnitskaya had deep ties to senior Russian government officials.

The charges stem from the Justice Department’s 2013 civil investigation into the role that Ms. Veselnitskaya’s clients — Prevezon Holdings Ltd. and its owner, Denis P. Katsyv — played in a scheme to launder ill-gotten money through New York real estate purchase...

I hope this doesn't turn into, what is perceived as, the Russian Lawyer implicating Trump (and his cronies) into a 'crime' so she gets off with a 'slap on the wrist' sentence.
This would defeat the entire Mueller probe.

The FEDs filed it. Southern District of NY. (Remember when he was said to be 'spinning off' parts of the case to other 'jurisdictions'? This could be as a result or blended something they were already working on). All too legalese for me--but I get the gist. Anyway, she converts rubles into $ for NYC real estate for a whole bunch of Russians and she just happened to meet with TRUMP JR?

That lady needs to STAY HERE. Anyone wanna believe she won't be DEAD if she goes back? Just like the RUSSIAN NRA (supposed) babe! (I'm thinking neither of them can go back)

I appreciate the 'spinning off' into different jurisdictions. That's a good strategy.
My point being, I hope this doesn't have the appearance of 'Natalia' telling the Mueller Team 'what they want to hear' in return for a sweet plea agreement.

Think about it. Is she obstructing because she is still tethered to Moscow? Or is she obstructing because she doesn't dare get sent 'home'? Weirdly, I think either could be the case. I think if she wants to stay here, she better play ball.

(You know, I keep waiting for a DEAD Russian to show up here. I'm serious as a heart attack).

From all that I hear and understand, NO ONE PIECE of TESTIMONY doesn't have 'redundacies'! It's been an education listening to all the NUMEROUS prosecutors, fed attorneys, judges, talking heads talking about these investigations are carried. There are LAYERS of evidence. I don't this Russian will pull any wool over anyone's eyes.

Veselnitskaya is not in the US and she won't be coming any time soon.

MY BAD!! I thought they told her not to leave or something along those lines. You're right I can't imagine we'll see her again. Maybe I'm mixing her up with the 'other' one.

PS Anyone know WHEN she left? Was she called, whether she showed or not, in front of the House or Senate?

PSS Here's one for you, I don't have a clue, can WE hold someone here or tell them not to leave, if here on a VISA if they haven't been charged? Remember there was something 'goofy' about her VISA. She tried and failed several times to get one. Something along those lines.

Veselnitskaya was in the US several times in the past couple of years to represent her blameless oligarchs in court. She was on some kind of safe conduct, and after the court appearances she went back to Russia.

Thanks. I would think she would be concerned about an International Warrant (if she ever wants to travel outside Russia again). Think of Meng, CEO of Huawei.

I wonder if she 'slipped' out or were we tracking her movements? Or could she go freely?
