Just for fun, what would it look like to Americans in 1963 for the United States to be defeated and taken over?

In 1963 Americans saw the notion of free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war, as something that represents defeat.
In 1963, Americans were able to recognize communist goals, but they had no intention of letting communists accomplish their goals. American at that time considered the accomplishment of communist goals as defeat. Unfortunately, communists have accomplished many of their goals that were meant to overthrow the United States since 1963.

I am talking about things like how Communists wanted to support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture–education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc. The communist takeover of the United States that Americans in 1963 feared, and the takeover that has occurred.

I am referring to the communists that America hated back in 1963. The ones who wanted to dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals, and the ones who wanted to discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

This is a combined map of all countries that declared themselves Socialist states under any definition, color-coded for the number of years they said they were Socialist:
The majority of self-declared Socialist countries have been Marxist–Leninist states, following the model of the Soviet Union or a variant of people's democracy.
They share a common definition of "socialism" and they refer to themselves as Socialist states on the road to communism with a leading vanguard party structure.
For this reason, they are generally, called "Communist states". Meanwhile, the countries in the non-Marxist–Leninist category represent a wide variety of different interpretations of the word "socialism". In many cases, they do not define what they mean by it. Modern uses of the term "socialism" are wide in meaning and interpretation.

In 1963, Communists hated the American FBI. Their goal was to discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI. Fast forward to 2018, and we can see that the FBI has been discredited and infiltrated by lefties/commies.

One of the biggest goals accomplished by communists since 1963 is getting control of the schools to use as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. They wanted to soften the curriculum and to get control of teachers’ associations. They wanted to put the party line in textbooks. In 1963, Americans saw this notion as something that would represent America being taken over by communists.
