Default The NRA’s financial weakness, explained

The National Rifle Association’s political spending fell during the 2018 midterm elections. There’s talk of ending small perks like free coffee at its offices and even employee layoffs.

These and other trends indicate that at a time when the NRA’s clout may seem stronger than ever, its financial power may be faltering.

As a researcher who studies and tracks the finances of nonprofits, I have followed the NRA’s financial disclosures for years. Here’s what I’ve observed lately.

The NRA deserves it, and then some.

Trolling the NRA louts could result in violence to Americans, and especially to their children who don't pack heat and are relatively safe targets. I don't think it has any purpose that could be thought of as lessening violence.

But then, what American is truly interested in saving other people's children from being the victims of gun violence, when trolling such as this is so much fun for them.

Why, some could even say that this forum contributes to hate against their fellow Americans, and that could be escalated to some forms of violence. If the gungoons are afraid to turn their guns on real people, they likely take out their frustrations on songbirds and other small animals.

The NRA gives millions to the executives in the organization. It has been a top-heavy piggy bank for many years.

Gun deaths/violence are/is at a 20 year high, who cares about violence in america? This is a nation with 7 hot shooting wars that even the military refers to as "generational" in majority muslim countries and none have anything to do with defense. America is all about violence and the endless threats thereof. Hateful? Or awareness.

The NRA used to be a gun safety/educational oriented organization. I left ages ago once they'd morphed into a white supremacist corporate state think tank/lobbying effort.

It's self-defeating to ignore you when you say something worthwhile.

And I just can't resist swooning when an American says something constructive about their guns!
