He won't do jack about the border but use it as a wedge, same as it ever was.
He will protect the border by shutting down government.

No he won't, he knows he ran his mouth too much and a shutdown will all be on him now. He knows he doesn't have the votes even in the House to push anything thru so don't be surprised if they reach some kinda of budget deal, and Trump puts it all off so that he can blame the Democratic House after the first of the year
You worried that you won't get your welfare checks? LOL

According to a Harvard University-Harris Poll, a majority of Americans actually agree with not only one but all of Trump’s immigration proposals.
A stunning 65 percent of Americans support a DACA deal that ends chain migration, eliminates the random visa lottery and secures the border with a wall. Only 35 percent of Americans did not agree.
Nearly 70 percent of Americans oppose the visa lottery which allows immigrants to be picked at random for entry into the country.
In fact, nearly 80 percent of Americans believe that immigration should be based on merit and skills, not just family ties.
Even more interesting, the poll shows that 60 percent of Americans believe that even if dreamers are allowed to stay, they should not be given preference to bring relatives to the United States.
When faced with a choice, nearly 80 percent want secure borders rather than open borders.
Specifically, 61 percent think that current border security is inadequate, and more than half of Americans — 54 percent — support a physical barrier along the southern U.S. border.

And none of that is what Trump campaigned on in the midterm elections, we didn't hear DACA nor dreamers, rather terrorists, M13, and diseased immigrants flooding across the border. And he isn't now threatening to shutdown the Gov't over DACA or the rest, rather, the Wall, point being it is a non starter as an issue, which is why he won't shut down the Gov't but wait till later and blame the Democrat House. Just couldn't keep his mouth close

I hope Trump doesn't get his way and shut down the government
he's already committed enough felonies to get a prison term, has zero chance of being reelected even if he avoids prison, and there are no midterm elections in 2019
not at all necessary politically
