Today, the public can freely enter some parts of Vatican City, including St. Peter’s Basilica, St. Peter’s Square and the Vatican Museum (which charges for the price of a ticket).

So we gave you Trump and his damned wall.
Re: the Vatican, why would anyone want to destroy an antiquity? A big part of Hadrian's Wall is still standing also. Same for the Great Wall of China. They weren't built to keep out migrants looking for work but to keep out barbarian invaders.

No wall is going to keep out people who are really determined to enter and these historical sites prove it.

Oh well, screw it, they’re going to get in anyway lol?

The Vatican Walls go back to 800 Anno Domini [thats 800 years after Christ, for the unenlightened]. Apparently, at that time—and at times after, hordes of attackers tried to take down the Holy See. Well guess what? Technology hasn’t changed anything.

Walls as are effective now as they have ever been. High-end subdivisions are gated for security purposes. It’s based on exactly the same principle as a wall. No, they’re not 100% effective but they’re very effective and history will attest to it.

In fact, even if the Vatican Walls currently have holes in them—the Pope is historically wrong. For many centuries, the Vatican was protected by walls.

He has no historical basis to criticize Trump.

Only a moron would say, but, but the Vatican has walls.

Trump is so incredibly stupid, how can you be taken in by him.

Today he said that he has secured the border..An hour later he said he needed billions to secure the border or there would be a government shutdown.

    He's sick and stupid.

I would say that building the Vatican walls to fend off pirates and other invaders over twelve centuries ago is a heck of a lot different than keeping out people who want to come here to work. Not even the all-but-forgotten caravan is coming armed and dangerous. Face it, trump hates brown people except for those here illegally who do the grunt work on his properties.

A paragraph from this article says it all.

"The situation is not “immigration enforcement” in any meaningful sense. Instead, it's a reprise of historical pattern of exclusion, displacement and oppression that has always surrounded the nation’s southern boundary — lines of class, race, gender and culture are deliberately drawn to police a social gateway to the country. And to President Trump, these refugees are the wrong kind of people."

Nope. You have to enter security through a gate, then you can enter the other venues. Unlike you I've actually been there.

Just stop. Trump is no racist and we both know it. And it’s not racist to want to secure the borders.

The ‘why’ they want to get here doesn’t matter. They need to come here legally or not at all.

And yes, the alternative IS open borders.

I have been there several times, jackass. Rome was a regular stop and my brothers went to school at Notre Dame on Via Aurelia for 3 years.
