The FIRST RUSSIAN to plead guilty! And she is cooperating!!! She is sitting in jail in N. VA without bond and has for months. Her American REP operative boyfriend, Paul Erickson, with whom she lived, visits her frequently. He is a 'target' of the FBI.

Marina Butina is a known RUSSIAN SPY and NRA infiltrator and is pleading guilty and is COOPERATING with the Mueller investigation. Her RUSSIAN HANDLER, Alexander Torshin, Putin buddy, big in the RUSSIAN STATE OWNED BANK suddenly 'resigned' on FRI. (No one can contact him). He is one of the 'handlers' for INFILTRATION OF THE NRA.

- Paul Erickson is a long time, high level operator within the REP party. (Rockefeller lineage, I believe?) He has VERY close ties to the NRA.
- Butina (and/or Erickson) along with her RUSSIAN HANDLER from above who quit on FRI, arranged an all expense paid JUNKET of high ranking NRA members, about 8 or 10 months before the election.
- Butina attended several of the REP prayer breakfasts in DC over the previous 3 or so years.
- Butina, who is not a reporter, got PRESS CREDENTIALS and was picked out of a team of reporters and allowed to ask a question of TRUMP at one of his early press conferences.
- All of the NRA interest and activities is under the guise of a GUN RIGHTS GROUP organizing in RUSSIA. There is no 2nd amendment type right for Russians. (Why would you think would PUTIN want ordinary Russians armed?)
- The NRA spent 3 X THE AMOUNT OF CAMPAIGN MONIES on Trump over ROMNEY just 4 years before. $12 million for Romney. Over $30 million for TRUMP. The NRA is struggling to keep its doors open! Did they blow their wad on Trump? And why would they bankrupt themselves for HIM?

On election night after it was called for Trump, Butina texted to her handler...

Alleged Russian agent Maria Butina is now expected to plead guilty, her lawyers and prosecutors signaled in a court filing Monday, after the gun-rights activist spent months in U.S. custody on charges of improperly pursuing Moscow’s interest in Washington.

Both sides asked a Washington federal judge to schedule a “change of plea hearing” in the case, which suggests that Ms. Butina, a Russian national, is expected to change her plea from the “not guilty” she entered in July.

The two sides had previously alerted the judge they were in discussions to resolve the case. Whether Ms. Butina will plead guilty to the original charges or to a different offense remains unclear.

The filing asked for the hearing later this week, but didn’t provide details of the negotiations other than to say that “the parties have resolved this matter” and that Ms. Butina remains in custody.

Later Monday, U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan set Ms. Butina’s plea hearing for Wednesday at 3:15 p.m.

Ms. Butina had faced up to 10 years in prison under one of the statutes. Negotiated pleas often leave out the most serious charges, so she could end up with a substantially reduced prison sentence.

Ms. Butina has been in custody since her arrest in July and would likely be sent back to Russia upon her release.

The unusual case, brought by the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington, accused the former American University graduate student of working with a Russian banking official to develop back-channel relationships with American politicians through the National Rifle Association, in an effort to advance Russia’s aims.

Ms. Butina has denied acting improperly, saying she was only pursuing policy interests similar to other 20-somethings in Washington.
The developments are the latest twist in a case that has linked Russian officials, the young Russian gun-rights activist and student, the American gun lobby, a Rockefeller heir and a longtime conservative political activist from South Dakota.

Prosecutors were forced to recant salacious allegations they made accusing Ms. Butina of offering sex in exchange for a position. Prosecutors later acknowledged they were mistaken in their reading of text messages.

The Butina case is unfolding at a time of public scrutiny of Russia’s various efforts to influence American politics and policy. However, the matter is separate from special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Russian officials raised Ms. Butina’s case multiple times with American counterparts. They have repeatedly said they view Ms. Butina as a political prisoner and hostage who is being unfairly prosecuted...

The NRA boyfriend now has his own set of problems. COLLUSION 101. The highlighted red sentence is about as DIRECT as one can get other than Trump himself calling to arrange the meeting. OF COURSE, the usual denials and deflections will ensue from Trump and Co. We don't know him. We've never talked to him. He's nothing, no one, what does this have to do with us?


Butina, who came to the United States in the summer of 2016 on a student visa, had lived with a man identified as Paul Erickson, a Republican activist and NRA member. Earlier this year, the McClatchy news service reported that the FBI was investigating whether the NRA received Russia money to help promote President Donald Trump's campaign.

Last week, the Daily Beast reported that a lawyer for Erickson was sent a so-called target letter informing him that prosecutors were considering charging Erickson with secretly acting as an agent for a foreign government. The letter, the news site said, also said prosecutors were weighing whether to charge him with conspiracy.

The New York Times has reported that Erickson wrote an email to Trump's campaign in May 2016 offering to arrange a meeting between Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
