He also got the unintentional tilt of the legal system in his favor, too -- the way white people are far less likely to be convicted and much more likely to get lighter sentences. He committed his murder in a city that's 20% black, and yet managed to get only a single black person on his jury of twelve (8.3%), which is everything a white supremacist could hope. Yet, even with deck stacked so heavily in his favor, he was unanimously voted to be guilty by that jury. Of course, that won't stop the racists from whining. Nothing short of complete legal impunity for white supremacist violence will satisfy them.
