By equality, I mean being able to walk down the street as a Black person without being murdered by LAW ENFORCEMENT because of the color of skin.
By equality, I mean being afforded the same opportunities as whites.
We are not on the same page with this discussion. It's way deeper than what you describe above. Equality not as in material things, but in equality as a people. You have to look beyond the surface and dig deep into American history to understand where I'm coming from. Racism is deep rooted in this country and it's as bad now as it was 100 years ago. We are still not equal.
You cited America's wealth inequality as comparable to France and Russia. I didn't bother pointing-out that those were oppressive monarchies, with aristocratic societies, because, I didn't see the need to point-out the obvious.
America is a Western liberal democracy, which means that the culprit in wealth inequality is some quite the opposite of monarchy and aristocracy (again, obviously).
