Mass shootings are as American as apple pie, Americans have even become desensitized, now we got a hospital to add to schools, shopping malls, concerts, day care centers, churches, nightclubs, movie theaters, etc., etc.

Removing the plane crash you threw in, the total, which encompasses 26 years, totals to approximately 294 French killed, while in the US, in 2018 alone, 328 Americans have been killed in 307 shootings, and the year isn't even over yet.

So obviously whatever France is doing is a hell'va lot better than the US's "prayers and condolences" approach
And before you or some other gun hugger jumps in with the population "arguement," France works out to approximately 1.6 gun homicides per 100,000 Frenchmen, where as in the US, 5.35 Americans are killed by guns for every 100,000, so it appears those French gun laws are effective compared to our benign and ignore approach

As I've explained umpteen times, Chicago has troubles with guns because it is surrounded by loose gun states, Indiana is only a twenty minute car ride away
