You don't have to "interpret" it at all.. Just read what it says.

Genesis 9:20-27 King James Version (KJV)

20 And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:

21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.

22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.

23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.

24 And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.

25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

26 And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

27 God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

    Really?

    Biblical Reasons
    • Abraham, the “father of faith,” and all the patriarchs held slaves without God’s disapproval (Gen. 21:9–10).

    • Canaan, Ham’s son, was made a slave to his brothers (Gen. 9:24–27).

    • The Ten Commandments mention slavery twice, showing God’s implicit acceptance of it (Ex. 20:10, 17).

    • Slavery was widespread throughout the Roman world, and yet Jesus never spoke against it.

    • The apostle Paul specifically commanded slaves to obey their masters (Eph. 6:5–8).

    • Paul returned a runaway slave, Philemon, to his master (Philem. 12).

Slavery with the birth child of man's inhumanity, whether atheist or believer.

You have really poor reading skills.

The so-called curse of Ham was actually on Ham's son Canaan and not on Ham himself.

yes, really.....only an atheist would twist scripture so violently to pretend it says the exact opposite of what Christianity teaches......have you ever read Phileman?......

15 Perhaps the reason he was separated from you for a little while was that you might have him back forever— 16 no longer as a slave, but better than a slave, as a dear brother. He is very dear to me but even dearer to you, both as a fellow man and as a brother in the Lord.
your anti-Christian bigotry is terribly sad.....

Really? The Christians in America got it wrong for nearly 400 years. Did you go to school at all? According to Genesis the four sons of Noah represent different people and Ham or Cham was black.

Muslims and Jews also believed that Ham was the father of the black race and that justified slavery.

Japheth is usually thought of as the “Father of the Europeans” and the “Father of the Japhetic Race” equating the Japhetic nations to Europeans. He is known to be the ancestor of all Indo-European nations. The majority of his descendants are situated in north western regions like Anatolia and Aegean. However, there are also assumptions that Japheth is the “Father of the Asian or Mongoloid People.

Roman slavery was - like that in many places - a mix of human and inhuman, like feudalism, capitalism and other sick systems. Racist slavery, however, was quite another thing - the direct denial of Christianity, as we can tell from all this Old Testament crap.

Japath was supposed to be the father of Europeans and Shem was the father of the Hebrews and Arabs. What church were you raised in that you don't know your Bible?
