The Feds began building Ft Sumter without ownership.. Its an interesting story and wasn't settled until 1841..

The Union blockade of Ft Sumter in the American Civil War was a naval strategy by the United States to prevent the Confederacy from trading.

No that wasn’t a fact. The Southern States had only about half (or less) of their ariable under production leaving plenty of room for growth and from the invention of the cotton gin the price of cotton, and consequently slaves, continued to rise sharply until 1860 when they had both reached their highest price. Which is an irrefutable fact that demand for slaves in the South was high and still growing. If what you’re claiming was true the price of slaves would have dropped substantially. It did not.

Now by 1861 you could argue that slavery was in decline because by then the Civil War had started and the Civil War did end slavery.

The Lost Cause mythology that slavery was already dying in the South is the easiest one to refute as economic numbers don’t lie. The data proves conclusively that until the Civil War started slavery was not only prospering in the South it was growing with increased demand.

Slavery was in sharp decline in 1798.. and increased exponentially after the cotton Ginn, but according to some there soon was a surplus of slaves EXCEPT during time to pick cotton.

Indigo, Rice and tobacco were already pretty much over and not all land was suitable for cotton, but I'll defer to your expertise.

Sorry, Laval had a land grant and that issue wasn't settled until 1841.

    Fucking idiot
It's not a union fort either just because the union says so. It was built with money collected from both the north and south and since it was on southern land, the south had the stronger claim. THINK

Everyone agrees the south seceded mainly over slavery but that doesn't mean the war THAT CAME LATER was fought over slavery. The north should have let the south go. Lincoln wanted a war and he's the cause.

Lincoln always said, prior to the war, he would protect slavery where it currently existed and was protected by the Constitution.

When Lincoln issued his famous Emancipation Proclamation, he only ended slavery in states that were in rebellion against the law. Which he had a legal right to do. He did not nor could not legally end slavery in any of the States not rebelling as he had no legal authority to do so. That was accomplished via the Thirteenth Amendment.
so lincoln did not want to end slavery but the south started the war for no other reason than for lincoln to not end slavery?

If slavery was the only issue then all the slave states in the north would be in the confederacy

It was built by the United States, dumbfuck. A FEDERAL fort.

The South had ZERO claim. They declared themselves something other than the United States, didn't they?

You idiots sound like the Freemen of Montana. Declared themselves free of any existing jurisdiction. Guess what, stupid fuck? It didn't work for them, either.

You are the stupidest motherfucker on this forum, pigfucker.
