The US Forest Service manages quite a bit of ‘leaf raking’ lol.

One of my buddies works for them. What sort of environmental constraints does the Forest Service work under in CA? Do your masters in the Fake News media have any talking points out in that regard? That you can regurgitate for the class?

Wildland fires are a force of nature that can be nearly as impossible to prevent, and as difficult to control, as hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods.

Wildland fire can be a friend and a foe. In the right place at the right time, wildland fire can create many environmental benefits, such as reducing grass, brush, and trees that can fuel large and severe wildfires and improving wildlife habitat. In the wrong place at the wrong time, wildfires can wreak havoc, threatening lives, homes, communities, and natural and cultural resources.

The Forest Service has been managing wildland fire on National Forests and Grasslands for more than 100 years. But the Forest Service doesn’t – and can’t – do it alone. Instead, the agency works closely with other federal, tribal, state, and local partners.

This is more important than ever because over the last few decades, the wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Longer fire seasons; bigger fires and more acres burned on average each year; more extreme fire behavior; and wildfire suppression operations in the Wildland urban Interface (WUI) have become the norm.

To address these challenges, the Forest Service and its other federal, tribal, state, and local partners have developed and are implementing a National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy (link is external) that has three key components: Resilient Landscapes, Fire Adapted Communities, and Safe and Effective Wildfire Response.

Sometimes fires start because of lightning, etc. Far and away, it is a human that starts the fire because they simply cannot follow protocol. We had a huge one a few years ago that was started by a wannabe hero/local firefighter. He wanted to be the first on the scene, but the fire got out of control.

    Then there was this one:

The USFS does no leaf raking and your buddy is likely laughing at trump. If trump had any brains he would talk about non flam materials like metal roofs/siding, exterior sprinklers, fire breaks and better egress roads.

Shows how much you know lol.

A metal roof is pointless once the structure underneath it is in flames. ‘Leaf raking’ is a reference to ridding the Forest floor of brush and dead undergrowth. Whether Trump actually discussed ‘leaf raking’ with the Finnish leaders misses the broader point [in which Trump couldn’t be more correct] about decreasing the available fuel for the next fire that happens.

It would be nice if the media clowns were half as interested in reporting on that as Trump’s reference to ‘leaf raking’.

you are determined to be a moron arent you. A metal roof in and of itself is indeed useless. The problem is you are too stupid to deal with several ideas at a time.
