The interesting thing is the contrasting motivations. The Pilgrim Fathers wanted to practice "purified" religion, shining city on a hill, and so forth. The Virginians went for free land.

You might say these are two dominant strands in Americans, or at least WASPs, ever since.
Yeah, Massachusetts was founded for religious freedom and Jamestown was a purely commercial venture.

Well, Marxists like to kill people who practice religious freedom. Actually, the first generation was pretty good about practicing their heresies. They didn't even believe in proselytizing to their new neighbors. It was subsequent generations who devolved into busybodies.

dont think of it so negatively. Think of it like securing living space for future americans of all colors.

i used to like christmas but im starting to dislike it the older I get. mostly because no one is ever surprised by gifts anymore.. (why take chances?) so everyone basically know what they are getting, and it seems easier if everyone just bought themselves gifts and opened their self bought gifts together.

No thank you, we can talk about that once a securing living space for future americans of all colors occurs. I don't think that was ever the aim, still isn't.

Everyone is different of course but probably the news about contaminated turkeys will cause a lot of discomfort around the table. Later in the throne room as well.
