Default Trump largely alone as world leaders take aim at nationalism

President Donald Trump in Paris, America First meant largely America alone.

At a weekend commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, the president who proudly declares himself a "nationalist" stood apart, even on a continent where his brand of populism is on the rise.

He began his visit with a tweet slamming the French president's call for a European defense force, arrived at events alone and spent much of his trip out of sight in the American ambassadors' residence in central Paris. On Sunday, he listened as he was lectured on the dangers of nationalist isolation, and then he headed home just as the inaugural Paris Peace Summit was getting underway.

Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind. Albert Einstein

America's future is bright, not white

And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment

EU is heading for ‘SERIOUS political crisis’: Ex-France leader issues election warning

FRANCE’S former Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin has warned the upcoming European Parliament election could be a catalyst for a major political crisis, adding that scapegoating the “extremes” could help them win sympathy votes. I

80,000 Americans died and 900,000 were hospitalised just two years ago from flu including the most virulent Type A version of H3N2, so why didn't you arseholes call for the total destruction of the world's economic system then? I hope you have plenty of time to ponder over that when you all lose your houses, jobs and relationships!

it doesn't surprise me that the presidents of countries that have submitted themselves to the EU do not believe in nationalism........I realize it was their only practical choice, since alone no one bothered to remember they existed............thank goodness we have nothing in common with them......
