In an obtuse way, they may be right. Trump can now blame the democrats for everything he doesn't get done. The democratic house muckracking will look like a sore loser witch hunt to those outside their base. Lastly, winning so many house seats while losing ground in the Senate a) undercuts the optics of their gerrymandering whine and b) in some states makes it look like judicial gerrymandering by leftist judges is the only reason they won so many house seats. There is nothing that pisses the conservatives off more than left wing judicial activism.

in a way kinda. The funny thing is that in their effort to contain Trump the resistance purged the GOP of any elected official who was critical of Trump lol.
