It seems like votes from densely populated urban and suburban precincts take longer to count and tabulate, whereas rural counties have their votes tallied up by early election night.

That seems to give Republicans and impression they are "in the lead" on election night, and they get shocked and mad when the late votes start trickling it. They actually thought Donald Trump was close to winning the popular vote until all the votes had been counted.

I have the same impression: Rightwingers want the votes to stop being counted before the democratic-leaning late votes are tallied.
