While Rod Rosenstein is a Republican and was nominated for his current job by Trump, he served in public office already under George W. Bush and Barack Obama and was approved by the Senate by a 96-4 vote, i.e. the vast majority of Democratic Senators were in favor of him.

This alone shows that he fails basically any criteria to be a "Trump ally" (unlike Mr. Sessions and his partisan 52-47 confirmation), he rather appears to be a professional public servant, who remembers that his job requirement is allegiance to the country and not the sitting president.

Furthermore also Republicans at least originally agreed that Mueller was a very good selection, if Rosenstein would be partisan he could have either selected someone who would really initiate a witchhunt or someone who'd just let things slip. I think his actions show that he is one of the seemingly few sane people left in this administration.

No, it is not. Mueller may be close to done but nobody knows for sure. Only about 30 indictments and 6 Repugs in jail so far. Very productive of Mueller to protect the country from crooks. You should be happy he is doing the job to protect the country.
