I don’t really have a problem with this. Forget the fact that you believe they will be reliably democrat voters. If someone has paid their debt to society why should they be prohibited from ever voting again?

1. The majority will be arrested again.
2. It is a deterrent to committing crime
3. It is indicative of bad judgement
4. It is an indicator of a lack of civility and disrespect for law and order
5. It is an indicator that they are not vested in bettering the community and general welfare.

Ronald Reagan and Tricky Dick Nixon kept voting even though we all are aware of the Watergate and Iran Contra crimes they were involved with.

Most ex-convicts were not convicted of violent crimes, for starters.

Second, once you receive your punishment and finish paying your debt to society, you are still an American citizen entitled to rights, including the right to vote.

Show me where the right to vote is mandated in the U.S. Constitution ... other than restrictions placed on the States by the 26th.

Grumpy murked, I don't support across the Board voting for ex-felons such as sexual offenders or murderers. I do support in general that ex-felons who complete all requirements and penalties imposed upon them should be allowed to vote.
