Imagine if, instead of talking about the current crop of immigrants, we were instead talking about earlier waves of Italian, Irish, and Jewish immigrants. Did they make the country better? I think so. However, you could correctly point out that those immigrant communities also included the likes Whitey Bulger, Al Capone, and Bugsy Siegel. There's always going to be an ability for the xenophobes to fixate just on the worst of the immigrant culture. But, the truth is crime among Latino immigrants is significantly lower than crime among Native-born Americans, even after factoring in the likes of MS13.
