Default Gun huggers should be getting excited, possibly a new toy for "hunting squirrels"

"Army might have found its new rifle in Colorado Springs garage"

"The Army adopted its battle rifle in 1963 and has spent 55 years looking for a replacement for the M-16 and its variants. They might have found it in Martin Grier’s Colorado Springs garage"

The specifications are incredible, four 6 mm barrels cut side by side within one steel block. New ammunition blocks fired by electromagnetic actuators that could theoretically give the weapon a firing rate of 250 rounds per second. And then there’s the feature no soldier would turn down. it’s called a power shot"

"That’s the shotgun feature of this sniper-shot, machine-assault gun that can send four bullets simultaneously whizzing toward an enemy at more than 2,500 mph."

    https://gazette.com/military/army-mi...5a0e767a4.html

Now do you think the "originalist theory" would cover public ownership? Find it hard to imagine that the likes of Jefferson, Washington, or Hamilton would imagined that public ownership of a new weapon that can be even more productive in killing than the weapons we have now that have killed mass numbers of innocent Americans would be acceptable in the public realm

Does have the potential to lead to even more "prayers and condolences"

Yes it would, without a doubt.

Well, that thing probably has 10 more years of trials and certification in front of it for one thing, and when and if the thing goes on the civilian market, it will 1) be prohibitively expensive and 2) require a tax stamp 3) the round is too powerful for squirrels, probably make a good deer gun though. Are you worried about this? Buy a gun

Nah, I don't need a gun, I don't hunt deer nor squirrel, ain't sport unless you arm them, besides I do all my hunting in Krogers, and I ain't afraid of some kid in a hoodie might come knocking at my door, so why would I ever need a gun?

Electronic ignition has been around for a while chief. I know you won't bother to research it though.

We already have easy access to umpteen weapons out there capable of killing large numbers of innocent Americans in seconds, so why do we need another? And if you need a weapon as such to hunt deer, where is the sport?

If you noticed this weapon is potentially going to be utilized for the military. Not that you might understand, but the whole goal of weapons in the military is to inflict the maximum damage with most efficiency and accuracy. Civilians as a rule do not have access to the better weapons developed for the military.

I seriously hope you never do, and if you've never hunted before you don't understand, but you are poorer for it in spirit. I get probably 99% of my meats from the market, but the 1% I get from the hunt is special

They wanted to insure that the public would had the ability to defend itself from tyranny so yes they would be down wit it.

Criminals are civilians, and they seem to acquire them.
