107,000 purged from Georgia voter rolls for not voting in past elections: report
Georgia officials removed an estimated 107,000 people from voter rolls because they decided not to vote in prior elections, according to a new report.
An APM Reports analysis (1) found the voters were removed under the state's "use it or lose it" law, which starts a process for removing people from voter rolls if they fail to vote, respond to a notice or make contact with election officials over a three-year period.
After that three-year span, those who don't vote or make contact with authorities in two elections can be purged from the voter rolls under the Georgia law.
Such laws, generally enacted by GOP governments, have been growing more common, with at least nine states now having them, according to APM Reports.

.....the GOP should be outlawed as a political party

We need to restrict voting. Anyone on welfare in the last 12 months should not be allowed to vote. We also need literacy tests.

It's not suppression, you incompetent fool. If you don't vote for a certain amount of time (I'm not sure what that amount of time is here in PA.), you're placed on the inactive list. All you need to do to become active again is show an ID at the poll when you want to vote again.
As usual, you have no idea of what you're babbling about.
Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.
I would rather see the law every 4 years, but whatever. It forces people to be current with their addresses which makes a difference in local elections to get them voting in the right wards for the right candidates. It encourages voter participation. If it offends democrats so be it. Karma is a bitch and for half of the 50 years they imposed the voting rights act on others and not themselves they unfairly benefited from heavy-handed federal oversight. Now that the chains are off, they don't get a say unless they actually win elections. Since they cannot win in the south and don't have federal boots to keep on people's throats, internet boohoo's is all they have going for them.
the dead, felons, and homeless are all important segments of the demmycrat demmygraphic....
Yes, it will always be a stain on Republicans. We will look back and it will be an electoral era that is just considered an extension of Jim Crow.
They will rightly be recorded as the immigrant hating, 90% white, fake christian, civil rights rollback, woman hating, poor hating, social services denying
Muslim hating, and homosexual hating party.
History will record this for what it is: white supremacy ideology. This is far beyond the euphemism "social conservatism"
We need a name or a slogan like they do for things. I say Trump fascism.
Exactly. You have no idea. If you show up at the poll without the proper ID, you’re fucked.
Amazing the rationalization you RW fucktards go through to justify this bullshit. Conservatives have tried various iterations of these same tactics since the Civil War. This is just the latest tactic.

A literacy test would have disqualified Trump from running for office, much less voting, if that were the case...and a whole lot of other current politicians.

I updated my voter registration just a few months ago when I discovered I had been purged though I had voted in the previous presidential election so the excuse of not being active is bullshit. Even more so because I recently checked AGAIN on my voter registration, which is active and current as previously mentioned, and once again my information is wrong.
